Friendship Walks
Reading Interfaith Group organised its Friendship walks in response to 9/11.
We wished to show that whatever went on in the wider world, we remain a united community where every human being matters.
Supported by remarkable generosity from a considerable range of faith and community groups around Reading, we organised rather a long walk around Reading, taking a slightly different route each year.
On the way, we visited many different places of worship to learn about the congregation and make friends. As everyone was so kind and welcoming, the Friendship Walks involved a considerable amount of food!
The Friendship Walks involved hundreds of people each year and lasted for over a decade.
Reading Interfaith Group is extremely grateful to everyone who made this gesture of love and support possible. We could not have done anything like this without you.
All we are saying is give peace a chance.
